Support Worker

Position Summary

The Host / Busser plays an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for guests at Lakeview Hecla Resort. This position is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and seating arrangements, maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant, and supporting the service team to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.

The successful candidate will be friendly, organized, attentive to detail, and committed to providing excellent guest service while maintaining the resort's service standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Reception and Seating

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and provide a professional first impression.
• Manage guest seating arrangements and maintain an organized seating rotation.
• Assist with reservations, waitlists, and guest inquiries as required.
• Communicate estimated wait times and provide accurate information about restaurant operations.
• Escort guests to their tables and distribute menus.
• Communicate guest requests, special occasions, and seating preferences to the service team.
• Respond to guest concerns professionally and notify management when assistance is required.

2. Table Maintenance and Bussing

• Clear used dishes, glassware, cutlery, and other items promptly from tables.
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and surrounding areas between guest seating.
• Reset tables according to restaurant standards.
• Ensure tables are properly stocked and ready for incoming guests.
• Remove dirty dishes from service areas and transport them to the designated dishwashing area.
• Assist servers and bartenders with clearing and resetting tables during busy periods.
• Maintain clean, organized, and accessible service stations.

3. Restaurant Cleanliness and Organization

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant, entrance, host station, and other assigned areas.
• Keep menus, reservation materials, and host supplies clean and organized.
• Sweep floors and address spills promptly to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure the restaurant is presentable before, during, and after service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Complete assigned opening, running, and closing duties.

4. Food & Beverage Team Support

• Work closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient service.
• Assist with running food and delivering beverages when required and appropriately trained.
• Refill water and assist with other basic guest needs as assigned.
• Support the team during busy periods, special events, banquets, and group bookings.
• Communicate table status and guest flow to the service team.
• Assist with maintaining smooth service flow without compromising guest experience.

5. Communication and Professionalism

• Maintain clear and respectful communication with all team members.
• Follow directions from supervisors and management.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or guest concerns promptly.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times.
• Respect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding resort operations.
• Follow all Lakeview Hecla Resort policies, procedures, and service standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, or customer service is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, welcoming, and guest-focused attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift or carry items as required.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Food safety training is an asset.
• Reliable transportation and availability for scheduled shifts are preferred.

• Ensure tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset promptly.
• Support servers and other team members proactively.
• Follow all assigned opening, running, and closing checklists.
• Maintain consistent communication with the service team.
• Follow established cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Contribute to positive guest feedback and overall guest satisfaction.

Working Conditions

• Work takes place in a busy resort restaurant environment.
• Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and carrying dishes or supplies.
• The role requires teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to maintain service standards during peak periods.
