Support Worker

We are looking for a committed Support Worker to support a young man with cerebral palsy in his own home in Ocean Village, Southampton.

This is an opportunity to provide person-centred support, promoting independence, choice and an active lifestyle. The role involves supporting him with everyday activities, getting out into the community and enjoying the things he loves.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing practical support with daily living and personal care where required.
• Supporting independence, dignity and individual choice.
• Accompanying him to football matches and other sporting activities.
• Supporting visits to the gym and spa.
• Assisting with trips out, social activities and the occasional holiday.
• Supporting day-to-day routines within his own home.
• Providing flexible support around his lifestyle and commitments.

What We’re Looking For

• A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
• A reliable, flexible and responsible approach to work.
• Someone who is friendly, patient, proactive and enjoys working with people.
• Willingness to work independently and follow individual support needs.
• A genuine interest in helping someone live an active and fulfilling life.
• Previous care or support work experience is desirable, but the right attitude and personality are equally important.

Please note: Applicants without a driving licence will not be considered.

Working Pattern

This is a zero-hours position offering flexibility, but the role requires availability to meet the individual’s support needs.

• Weekend availability is essential.
• Early starts and late finishes will be required.
• Flexibility is important, as working hours will vary depending on activities, commitments and daily routines.
• Occasional holiday support may be required.

Pay and Benefits

• £14.14 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
