About Townend Care

Townend Care is a residential rehabilitation service in Symington, supporting up to 23 residents affected by alcohol and drug addiction. We provide a compassionate, person-centred approach to recovery, helping individuals rebuild their lives through structured rehabilitation, therapeutic support and community reintegration.

About the Role

Are you passionate about helping people make positive changes and build a brighter future?

As an Addiction Rehab Support Worker, you'll play an important role in supporting residents throughout their recovery journey. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide emotional and practical support, encourage personal development and help individuals build the confidence and skills needed for lasting recovery.

You'll also support group work, psychoeducation sessions and community recovery activities, helping residents develop coping strategies, strengthen support networks and work towards their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one emotional and practical support to individuals in recovery.
• Support group work, psychoeducation sessions and recovery programmes.
• Encourage participation in 12-step fellowship meetings and community activities.
• Promote independence, daily living skills, health and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, counsellors and social workers.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with organisational policies.
• Promote safeguarding, harm reduction and a safe, supportive environment.

About You

• Empathetic, resilient and passionate about supporting positive life changes.
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults or individuals affected by addiction, homelessness or mental health challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
• SSSC registered or willing to register.
• SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.

Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, recovery models, psychoeducation or 12-step programmes would be an advantage.
