About The Role

We are recruiting caring, reliable and enthusiastic Support Workers to support an active child with complex care and sensory needs in her family homes. She is non-verbal and enjoys swimming, water play and sensory activities.

You must hold a full driving licence and be able and willing to drive a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV).

Care is provided across two family homes in LS25 and LS27, approximately 30 minutes apart. You must be prepared to work at both locations.

You will support her daily routines, comfort and independence, working closely with her parents and the wider care team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing personal care and continence support with dignity and sensitivity.
• Supporting gastrostomy feeding and preparation of her blended diet, following her care plan.
• Assisting with mobility and use of her wheelchair and standing frame.
• Providing engaging sensory activities suited to her interests and needs.
• Supporting swimming, outings and community activities, including driving the WAV.
• Following care plans and maintaining accurate care records.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting individuals with sensory needs.
• Is patient, attentive and energetic, with a caring approach.
• Can build trusting relationships with a child and her family.
• Is reliable and comfortable working within two family households.
• Can meet both the WAV driving and location requirements.

Hours of Work

Available shifts include weekday afternoons 14:00–21:00, weekend days 09:00–21:00, and waking nights 21:00–09:00.

Rates of Pay Per Hour

Weekday afternoons £15.73

Weekend days £16.61

Weekday waking nights £16.31

Saturday waking nights £18.63

Sunday waking nights £19.85

Training rate £12.71

About You

Required

· Experience of working with paediatrics with complex care needs

· Friendly, approachable and confident and energetic

· Experience and ability to understand and deal with complex needs

· Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the client

· Non smoker

Desirable

· Registered on the DBS update service
