Coalbrook Residential Care Home

Be the Person Who Walks Alongside Someone's Journey
Support Worker | £12.84–£13.39 per hour | Full & Part-Time Permanent Roles
Every person has the right to live a life that reflects who they are.
A life filled with choice. Purpose. Relationships. Belonging. Opportunity. Independence. And the freedom to make their own decisions.
At Coalbrook, we believe people are experts in their own lives.
Our role isn't to lead them.
Our role is to walk alongside them, listening, encouraging, advocating, and ensuring they have every opportunity to achieve the life they choose.
This Is More Than Supporting Daily Living
This is about supporting people to live meaningful lives.
It's about recognising strengths before support needs.
It's about building on people's abilities, not focusing on their limitations.
It's about understanding that everyone has hopes, dreams, talents, preferences and aspirations that deserve to be heard and respected.
The people we support make their own choices.
We simply provide the encouragement, reassurance and practical support that enables those choices to become reality.
Because real support isn't about doing things for people.
It's about enabling people to do as much as possible for themselves while knowing someone is there when they need them.
Every Person Has Their Own Story
One person may want to get their first paid job.
Another may want to reconnect with family.
Someone else may dream of learning to cook independently, joining a local club, volunteering, travelling, developing friendships or moving into their own home.
For another person, success may simply be finding the confidence to walk into a café, speak up at a meeting, or make a decision they've never felt able to make before.
There is no single definition of success.
Success is whatever matters to the individual.
Every achievement deserves to be celebrated because every achievement belongs to the person who worked hard to accomplish it.
The Difference You Could Make
You could be the person who...
Listens without judgement.
Encourages rather than directs.
Celebrates strengths.
Respects every choice.
Supports people to take positive risks and experience new opportunities.
Promotes independence instead of dependence.
Values every voice.
Protects dignity.
Builds confidence.
Creates opportunities for people to be active members of their communities.
Most importantly, you help ensure people remain in control of their own lives.
We Don't Need Perfect People
We need people who genuinely believe everyone deserves the same rights, opportunities and respect.
People who see ability before disability.
People who understand that compassion means listening first.
People who value diversity.
People who recognise that everyone communicates differently and every voice matters.
People who understand that the best outcomes are achieved with people, never for them.
If you bring kindness, empathy, integrity and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the knowledge, training and support you need to thrive.
Why This Work Matters
You'll witness moments that stay with you forever.
The first day someone travels independently.
The confidence to speak up for themselves.
The excitement of making a new friend.
The pride of achieving a goal that once felt impossible.
The smile that comes from knowing someone believed in them.
These aren't just milestones.
They're moments of increased confidence, independence, self-determination and belonging.
And you'll know you played a small part by believing in someone's potential—not defining their limits.
