Support Worker in Child Care Setting

We are looking for a passionate Early Childhood Educator or Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at CEFA Early Years School South Delta as a one-on-one Support Worker.

The role of the Support Worker is to provide additional support to a child with extra support needs, helping them participate in the childcare environment. Working closely with classroom teachers, the Support Worker helps foster an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child can learn, play, and thrive.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized support to help a child with extra support needs participate in classroom activities, daily routines, and social interactions.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of Child and Family Support Plans in collaboration with the team and family, while respecting the choices and priorities identified by the parents.
• Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to promote inclusion and implement appropriate strategies and activities.
• Participating in the ongoing evaluation of plans, goals, and objectives through observation and data collection.
• Following the philosophy of the childcare setting and actively participating in the overall classroom program, not just focusing exclusively on the child requiring additional support.

This position is open to all applicants who have a valid ECE / ECEA license, Emergency Child Care First Aid, and a clear Criminal Record Check.

Pay: $21.00-$21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 21.0 – 37.5 per week
