Support Worker (Nights)

Duties

• Provide personalised, person-centred support to vulnerable adults in accordance with their individual care and support plans
• Assist individuals with daily living activities, routines and personal care, where required, while promoting independence, dignity and choice
• Support individuals to access their community, develop relationships and participate in meaningful social, recreational and educational activities
• Encourage the development of confidence, communication, independence and practical life skills
• Implement agreed care and support plans in collaboration with colleagues, families and relevant professionals
• Provide appropriate guidance and reassurance, using positive approaches to support behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Support individuals to manage their health and wellbeing, including medication support where trained and authorised to do so
• Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, changes in wellbeing, risks or incidents
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records of the support provided, progress towards agreed outcomes, and any incidents or concerns
• Promote a safe, respectful and welcoming environment by following safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and organisational policies at all times

Requirements

• Experience of supporting vulnerable adults within a care, support or community setting is desirable, although not essential
• A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach
• A commitment to promoting independence, dignity, choice and inclusion
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, professional and trusting relationships
• The ability to understand and follow individual care and support plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Reliability, patience and the ability to respond calmly and appropriately to changing situations
• A clear commitment to safeguarding adults and promoting their welfare
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, nights and bank holidays
• A relevant qualification in health and social care is advantageous but not essential; successful applicants must be willing to complete all required training and qualifications
• Appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an appropriate enhanced DBS check

Pay: £13.55-£14.05 per hour
