Support Worker/Driver

• We are a day centre for adults with Autism and learning disabilities and physical disabilities. We are looking to recruit a support worker/driver to support our service users in their day to day activities from Monday to Friday, 8:00am- 4:00pm. Duties include personal care, travel training, independent living skills and communicating with the service users parents and carers as well as social services. A driving licence is preferable.
• All training is included. We offer 26 days holiday and are closed all bank holidays which are paid. We are also closed for around 8 days over the Christmas break.
• Drive company vehicles to transport service users to and from the day centre and transport them on various outings within the community.
• Provide support, advocacy and information to the individuals we support.
• Provide emotional and practical support to service users
• Help service users meet their personal care need sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including personal hygiene, assistance with laundry, and preparing meals and drink.
• Supporting service users to take any prescribed medicine, complying with all medicine policies, including storage, administering and record keeping.
• Enable service users to achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their life by provding appropriate information, opportunity, training, counselling and support.
• Help service users to identify and choose their support needs.
• Assist in devising, implementing and reviewing care plans.
• Assist service users in the community and on outings planned on a daily basis
