Job Description The role involves providing support to an adult with mild learning disabilities and wellbeing needs to improve his physical health, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and social engagement.

Hours Available

20 hours per week

Working hours are flexible

Rate of Pay

£13.00 per hour

Duties (Day to Day)

Expected Duties Include Providing social support and encouragement to help engage in activities and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Building a positive and trusting relationship with the client, helping him feel comfortable, valued, and understood.

Supporting trips into town, community activities, and social interactions to reduce isolation and increase confidence.

Assisting with and accompanying the client to health-related appointments, including podiatry and dental care.

Monitoring medication.

Light housekeeping, including keeping areas used by the client clean.

Laundry and ironing.

Preparing meals.

Essential Skills We're looking for someone who is:

Caring, patient, empathetic, and able to provide positive encouragement and motivation.

Able to build a trusting and supportive relationship with the client.

Committed to helping the client increase confidence, independence, and engagement in daily activities.

Reliable with a positive attitude.

Understanding of the importance of supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.

Additional Requirements A full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be highly desirable, as this would provide the client with greater flexibility and opportunities to participate in a wider range of activities, appointments, and community outings.

Previous experience of working in the care sector is preferred but not essential.

DBS

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
