SUPPORT WORKERS - DISABILITY CHILDREN WITH HIGH NEEDS

Who We Are

At Prana Supports, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to live a full, independent, and meaningful life guided by choice, dignity, and empowerment.
We take a holistic, person-centred approach, recognising that wellbeing flows from the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

Our mission is to provide supports that go beyond the basics of care helping NDIS participants build confidence, connection, and capacity in their daily lives.

About the Role - Based closer to Altona and New Port

We are seeking dedicated, reliable, compassionate and emotionally intelligent Support Workers to join our growing team supporting children with complex and high support needs. This rewarding role involves providing person-centred care and support, helping children achieve their daily goals, and enjoy meaningful daily experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.

This role is perfect for someone who has expereince working with Autistic children and values genuine human connection, takes initiative, and sees support work as a pathway for transformation, not just assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support participants to engage in community, social, and recreational activities that promote inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (OTs, psychologists, support coordinators, and other professionals) to ensure holistic care and aligned goal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and communicate effectively with the broader team.
  • Uphold NDIS Practice Standards, privacy, and safeguarding principles at all times.
  • Promote dignity, choice, and control in every interaction.

About You

You’re someone who brings presence, empathy, and professionalism into every interaction. You believe in capacity, not limitation and you see your role as walking alongside people, not ahead of them.

You’ll have:

  • Previous experience supporting NDIS participants (desirable but not essential).
  • Understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centred approaches.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially when working collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and emotional intelligence.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, First Aid/CPR, and valid driver’s licence.
  • Preferred Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent (or working towards)
  • A genuine commitment to helping people live more independently and meaningfully.
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays

What We Offer

  • A supportive, values-driven team culture grounded in respect and authenticity.
  • Opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • Flexible shifts that honour work–life balance.
  • A chance to make a real impact in people’s lives through conscious, compassionate support.
