What they need

Company Description

Monarch Interventions is a family-run organisation committed to providing high-quality care, support, and accommodation services for children and young people. With three Ofsted-registered children’s homes and a growing portfolio of supported accommodation services, we provide a structured and supportive pathway for young people as they develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed for adulthood.

Our approach is rooted in strong family values, with a focus on safety, stability, dignity, and genuine care. We support young people who may have experienced adversity, trauma, or complex needs, working alongside them to build resilience, develop life skills, and recognise their potential.

At Monarch Interventions, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued, heard, and empowered. Our dedicated teams work collaboratively to create positive environments where young people can overcome challenges, build confidence, and take meaningful steps towards a brighter and more independent future.

Role Description

We are seeking a Deputy Manager – Supported Accommodation to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent on a full-time, on-site basis.

Working closely with the Registered Service Manager, the Deputy Manager will play a key role in the effective day-to-day management of our supported accommodation services. You will help ensure that young people receive high-quality, person-centred support within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

The role will involve providing leadership and guidance to staff, maintaining high standards of safeguarding and compliance, and ensuring that support is tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of each young person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of supported accommodation services.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, guidance, and support to staff teams.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for young people.
  • Ensure young people’s individual support and care plans are developed, implemented, reviewed, and regularly updated.
  • Monitor and manage safeguarding concerns, incidents, and risk assessments in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development of young people’s independence, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and practical life skills.
  • Ensure accurate and effective record keeping, reporting, and documentation.
  • Support budget management and the effective use of resources within the service.
  • Promote compliance with relevant Ofsted requirements, legislation, policies, and quality standards.
  • Liaise effectively with social workers, local authorities, education providers, health professionals, families, and other external agencies.
  • Facilitate effective communication between staff and ensure information is shared appropriately and professionally.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervisions, training, and service development activities.
  • Contribute to audits, quality assurance, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Act as a positive role model for both staff and young people, promoting professionalism, respect, accountability, and positive outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role within a care, supported accommodation, residential, or similar setting.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with complex needs, challenging circumstances, or experience of trauma and adversity.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and reviewing individualised support or care plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and support a team effectively.
  • A genuine commitment to promoting the safety, wellbeing, independence, and personal development of young people.
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people, colleagues, families, and external agencies.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to documentation, recording, and compliance.
  • Desirable - A relevant qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline (ideally Level 4 or above).
  • A flexible and proactive approach, with a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours where required by the needs of the service.
  • Willingness to contribute to organisation wide on call system, receiving additional £100 per month.

What We Are Looking For
