We are a growing and diverse Council, offering interesting work and exciting opportunities to explore.  Here, you will find a team of friendly and authentic people who, together, create a fun and supportive environment.  It is a place where the real you is welcomed, your wellbeing is prioritised and your work matters. If you are inspired by delivering for our community, have a desire to grow, and can bring a positive energy to share with your talented colleagues, then you might just find your place with us.

The part you will play
The Victorian Government provides funding through the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing to Council to facilitate Supported Playgroups for eligible families with children from birth up to 5 years of age.  A qualified facilitator leads these playgroup sessions where parents develop their skills and confidence to support their child’s wellbeing and development. In-home support is provided to families who meet additional criteria.

The responsibilities of the Supported Playgroup Facilitator include planning and facilitating Supported Playgroups (incorporating Smalltalk - parenting strategies); providing in-home support; developing referral pathways for families and undertaking evaluation processes, including data collection.

Let’s talk about you
We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of the needs of vulnerable families and children.  Alongside this you will have a passion for achieving positive outcomes for children and families and developing programmed activities to deliver in a Supported Playgroup Session. You will be approachable, have a willingness to engage with others, share ideas and work collaboratively with colleagues.

Ideally, you will have qualifications in a relevant discipline, with proven skills and abilities in communicating and engaging with families and children, stakeholder relationships, highly effective interpersonal skills, the capacity to handle a busy workload, and the ability to work positively in a team environment.

If this sounds like you, then you should definitely apply!
