Support Staff (Wait Assistant/Food Runner)

Position Summary

The Support Staff team member plays a vital role in creating exceptional dining experiences by assisting servers, maintaining the dining room, and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently throughout service. This position supports both front and back of house by anticipating the needs of guests and teammates while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality. This is a part-time or full-time, hourly position with flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate is energetic, team-oriented, and takes pride in creating an exceptional guest experience through attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Support servers in delivering exceptional hospitality throughout the guest experience
• Greet guests warmly when appropriate and assist with seating, water service, and guest requests
• Anticipate guest and team needs while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
• Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate effectively with the service team
• Help create a welcoming, clean, and organized dining environment

Service Execution

• Reset and prepare tables quickly and accurately according to restaurant standards
• Refill water, clear finished plates and glassware, and assist with table maintenance throughout service
• Assist with food running and beverage delivery as needed
• Stock service stations with dishes, glassware, silverware, linens, and other necessary supplies
• Complete opening, running, and closing side work efficiently and thoroughly

Operations

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, restrooms, and common areas
• Support servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations
• Follow all restaurant service standards and operational procedures
• Properly handle and transport dishes, glassware, and equipment while maintaining a safe work environment
• Assist with special projects and additional operational needs as assigned by management

Team & Culture

• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude during every shift
• Work collaboratively with front and back of house teams to deliver exceptional service
• Participate in pre-shift meetings, training sessions, and ongoing development
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency while supporting teammates during busy service periods
• Contribute to a positive culture where both guests and team members feel valued

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
• Passion for hospitality and chef-driven dining experiences
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Food safety certification, or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds

Pay: $16.37 per hour
