Surety Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Risk team at our Romanian office in Bucharest. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Construction Surety Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving Marsh’s growth in the construction surety market. You will leverage your expertise to unlock new business opportunities, forge strong partnerships with key industry players, and deliver innovative surety solutions that meet client needs.

This role offers the chance to make a significant impact by applying your analytical skills to assess complex financial and project risks, while expertly managing contract bonds throughout their lifecycle. We will count on you to:

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction surety market
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, underwriters, and other stakeholders
• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and project risks to assess bond capacity
• Manage the full lifecycle of contract bonds (performance, payment, and maintenance bonds)
• Deliver exceptional customer service and support to clients
• Collaborate with a team of 6-7 colleagues to drive innovation and excellence

What you need to have:

• 3-5+ years of industry experience in surety, insurance, or construction finance
• Strong analytical thinking and sales-focused relationship-building skills
• Very good English and fluent Romanian language skills
• Previous experience in surety or insurance brokerage is generally required
