Surface Mount Operator

Job Summary

Operates SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machines according to documented guidelines and procedures. Able to perform touch up rework (IPC standards), component value measurement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, fast learner and is highly motivated. This is a temp to permanent position for someone to work Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. MUST be able to work overtime as needed. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and able to work with a local staffing agency during your probationary period is complete. Candidates must also have strong attention to detail as they will be responsible following specific work instructions:

Responsibilities and Duties

• Works in conjunction with team of SMT operators in the setup and running of jobs on machines as directed by the Supervisor
• Ensures that machines are properly setup
• Runs jobs according to production releases, completing necessary paperwork and following documented procedures
• Ensures accuracy and timely completion of jobs
• Complete production activities efficiently and managing time and priorities well to meet deadlines
• Preforms rework on incomplete or partial assemblies
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications and Required Skills

• High School graduate or GED
• Experience preferred but will train the right person
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Self-starter must be able to work independently and with limited supervision
• Ability to do repetitive operations
• Ability to work with small parts and materials
• Must be a team player
• Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time
• Work overtime as required
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Mathematical aptitude
• Organized and detailed oriented
• Computer skills
• Work as both an individual as well as a team as needed
