About the Opportunity

My client is seeking an experienced Surgery Manager to oversee Surgical Services and provide strategic leadership across multiple clinical departments. This position is responsible for daily operations, staff leadership, quality of care, budgeting, compliance, and long-term departmental goals.

The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare management experience, surgical services expertise, and the ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Surgical Services operations and quality of patient care.
• Provide strategic direction and establish departmental goals.
• Manage budgets, resources, supplies, and equipment.
• Lead performance improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, senior leadership, and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
• Oversee Operating Room (OR), Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Central Sterile Processing, Ambulatory Services, and Endoscopy departments.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate surgical services staff.
• Manage employee performance, including evaluations, promotions, salary adjustments, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Facilitate staff orientation, competency assessments, clinical education, and professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
• Provide clinical RN support when needed to maintain operations.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Current Alabama State Board of Nursing license.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS/PALS certification as applicable.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience demonstrating management/leadership skills.
• 2–3 years of surgery experience required.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and complex situations with discretion.
• Must be willing and able to relocate to Muscle Shoals, Alabama within 30 days of hire.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
