About the Role:

Next Generation Orthopedic and Spine Institute in Spring, TX is looking for a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler & Pre-Authorization Specialist to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with hospitals, surgical centers, and surgical teams
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications from insurance carriers for surgical procedures
• Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to scheduled procedures
• Communicate surgery details, pre-op instructions, and scheduling updates to patients and clinical staff
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date surgical scheduling records in the EMR system
• Follow up on pending authorizations and appeals to minimize delays in patient care
• Collaborate with surgeons, medical assistants, and billing teams to ensure proper documentation and coding

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in surgical scheduling and/or insurance prior authorizations
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic and/or spine surgical procedures and terminology preferred
• Experience working with major insurance carriers and authorization portals
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical scheduling software
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and provider interactions
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
