Surgical Assistant — Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

Brisbane | 3 days per week | Casual, $80–$120/hour

A Brisbane-based plastic reconstructive is seeking a motivated surgical assistant to work alongside the surgeon across a varied operating list.

The role

• 3 days per week, casual engagement

• $80–$120 per hour, based on skill level and training

• Theatre-based assisting across plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery cases

What you’ll do

• Assist intraoperatively — retraction, exposure, tissue handling, instrument work

• Sterile preparation and draping

• Independent suturing and wound closure

• Maintain sterile technique and theatre flow throughout the list

What we’re looking for

• Medical or nursing background (essential)

• Current AHPRA registration (essential)

• Demonstrated surgical assisting experience

• Confident sewing independently

• Flexible with scheduling and adaptable to list changes

• Motivated, reliable, and genuinely interested in surgical work
