Surgical Assistant

Job Overview
Fast paced oral surgery practice seeking a hard-working, experienced oral surgery assistant with a positive attitude who loves delivering compassionate patient care in a private practice office. Our ideal candidate has an excellent work ethic, is patient-focused with a can-do attitude, and capable of working under pressure during busy hours. You must be strong at multitasking and a team player. Prior experience in dentistry is not required but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to two practice locations to support patient care.
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring all tools are ready for use. Preparing surgical trays. Sterilizing instruments.
• Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and medical histories, to support pre-operative assessments.
• Monitor patients' conditions during surgery and in the recovery room.
• Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems.
• Uphold infection control protocols and ensure compliance with policies regarding patient care. Maintaining a sterile environment.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and dental terminology.
• X-ray certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Highschool diploma.
• Previous dental or oral surgery experience is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
