Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Surgical Assistant III to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support surgical procedures within a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and infection control. This role requires a strong background in dental assisting, with specific expertise in dental procedures, and patient management. The Surgical Assistant III will collaborate closely with surgeons and dental professionals to facilitate efficient and effective surgical operations, emphasizing patient comfort and safety throughout every procedure.

Duties

• Assist during surgical procedures by preparing the operating area, passing instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Support dental surgeries with expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow and patient outcomes.
• Manage patient care before, during, and after procedures, providing reassurance and addressing patient needs effectively.
• Utilize patient management software to document procedures, update records, and coordinate patient scheduling efficiently.
• Support the team in a fast-paced setting by adapting quickly to changing priorities and maintaining attention to detail during complex procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a dental clinic setting is essential.
• Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, dental x-ray techniques, and infection prevention protocols required.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, equipment, and four-handed dentistry practices preferred.
• Experience with patient management software is necessary for efficient record keeping.
• RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) certification is preferred; IV sedation experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and patient care.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach toward patient interactions.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 43.0 per week
