Shift: Days, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CST/ST) for a 13-week contract assignment in a busy Operating Room environment in Kansas City, Kansas.

The ideal candidate will have strong OR experience, with particular emphasis on orthopedic cases and Level I trauma experience. The position provides an opportunity to work across multiple surgical specialties and ORs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures while maintaining a sterile field.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team.
• Ensure surgical instruments and supplies are available and properly prepared.
• Assist with surgical counts according to established procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection prevention and patient safety standards.
• Clean, organize, and restock operating rooms between procedures.
• Support a variety of surgical cases across multiple specialties.
• Float to different ORs as needed.
• Participate in on-call coverage as required.

Surgical Experience

Strong experience with orthopedic surgery is required. Experience with the following is preferred:

• General surgery
• Trauma
• Gynecology
• Urology
• Plastics
• Da Vinci robotic cases
• Large head and neck cases
• Neuro spine
• Exploratory laparotomy (ex lap) cases

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a CST OR 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist (ST).
• Level I trauma experience required.
• Strong orthopedic experience preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA CST certification required, or 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience may be accepted in lieu of the certification/degree requirement.
• Previous travel experience preferred.
• New graduates will not be considered.
