Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support surgical teams and provide safe, effective care during surgical procedures, including complex cases.

Hours Per Week: 40.00

Hours Per Day: 10.00

Days Per Week: 4.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and the sterile field.
• Anticipate surgeons’ needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sharps, sponges, and other items.
• Maintain aseptic technique and immediately address any breaks in sterility.
• Safely handle specimens and medications according to department policies.
• Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report issues promptly.
• Assist with patient transportation, positioning, room turnover, and cleaning.
• Support physicians and the surgical team during procedures.
• Serve as a role model for Surgical Technologist I.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, physiology, safety, and sterile technique.
• Ability to anticipate surgical needs and work independently.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patients and healthcare teams.

Education: Required Education: -Completion of an accredited program recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or a formal structure surgical program e.g., military service.

Required Certifications & Licensure: -Current American Heart Association AHA Certification for Basic Life Support BLS for Healthcare Providers.

One of the following: -

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Required Education: -Completion of an accredited program recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or a formal structure surgical program e.g., military service

Pay: $50.73 - $57.48 per hour
