What they need

Company Description

We are Olsson. We engineer and design solutions that improve the world around us. As a company, we promise to always be responsive, transparent, and focused on results – for our people, our clients, and our company.

We’re a people-centric firm, so it’s no surprise our greatest asset is our people. The impact this creates is an environment that encourages our people to grow and be creative with their talents. This approach builds a culture that is uniquely Olsson. It allows us to grow our people as we grow our business. This, in turn, creates a lasting impact on the world around us.

Job Description

Olsson's Survey team combines technical expertise with innovative technology to deliver accurate, reliable solutions that support projects across the company and for our internal and external clients. We are committed to staying at the forefront of the industry by embracing new technologies, expanding our capabilities, and continuously growing our expertise. Our collaborative approach allows us to provide trusted guidance and high-quality service while helping shape the future of surveying.

As a Survey CAD Design Associate, you will support a variety of surveying projects by preparing detailed survey drawings, plats, maps, and exhibits using CAD and ORD software. Working closely with surveyors and project teams, you'll interpret survey data, field notes, legal descriptions, and project requirements to develop accurate, high-quality deliverables that support project objectives. This role requires the ability to independently perform complex drafting assignments, maintain QA/QC standards and consistency across project documents, and apply sound technical judgment to meet project needs. As an experienced member of the team, you'll also collaborate with and provide guidance to less experienced staff while helping drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

You are passionate about:

  • Working collaboratively with others.
  • Having ownership in the work you do.
  • Using your talents to positively affect communities.

You bring to the team:

  • Associate degree in Surveying, Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience utilizing CAD software in a surveying, civil engineering, or related technical environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other survey-related software.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, terminology, development codes and industry standards.
  • Ability to interpret survey records and data, legal descriptions, field notes, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
