Survey Crew Chief

Location: Colorado or Texas

Department: Land Surveying (Pipeline)

Avery Land Services is currently looking for an employee with high integrity and an excellent attention to detail in order to fill a position as a Surveying Crew Chief . You must be familiar with all surveying techniques utilized for pipeline surveying.

The successful candidate will be required to report to the Survey Supervisor daily, collaborate with their Project Manager(s) and crews for local work and clients based around the Permian Basin, West Texas or Colorado.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Will work primarily in the field on preliminary topographic surveys, and pipeline as-built surveys as Crew Chief of a one & two person field crew.

Will be proficient with Trimble GPS & TSC-7 Data Collector

• Utilize Trimble Access software, including Trimble Pipelines
• Capture location & attribute survey data on-site
• Identify & locate existing below ground utilities
• Responsible for preliminary surveys, boundary surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, and route surveys
• Take accurate and clear field survey notes
• Reads and understands construction plans and pipe specifications
• Know principles of survey monumentation, construction staking and marking

Required experience: Surveying - 5+ years

Required license or certification:

• Driver's License
• Applicant must have reliable personal truck and pass a drug test

Surveying Crew Chief will receive: Hourly rate dependent on experience with potential for overtime, $185/day per diem (if applicable), $30/day Truck pay, and mileage reimbursement.
