Survey Engineer

Trevi Group is seeking an experienced Survey Engineer to join our team supporting the delivery of major geotechnical and construction works on the Lihir Project in Papua New Guinea.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and verifying high-precision spatial and subsurface layouts for complex deep foundation projects (such as piling, diaphragm walls, and anchors) across global sites.

The candidate may spend a couple of months with Trevi Philippines and later will be mobilized to Lihir Island in Papua New Guinea.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and verify primary and secondary survey control points and benchmarks tailored to deep foundation and piling grids.
• Execute precise setting-out for piles, bored holes, caissons, sheet piles, and slurry/diaphragm walls according to structural and geotechnical designs.
• Conduct rigorous as-built surveys on installed foundation elements to verify depth, verticality (plumbness), and coordinate accuracy.
• Monitor ground settlement, adjacent structures tilting, and inclinometer movements using automated or manual optical/GPS instruments.
• Process raw field data using advanced software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, or Leica Geo Office) and update project managers on site discrepancies.
• Collaborate with international project managers, geotechnical engineers, and local subcontractors to resolve site constraints.
• Enforce strict on-site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, especially around heavy deep-foundation machinery and drilling rigs.
• May participate in progress meetings to report work update, budget adherence, and technical risk to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Geodetic engineering or Geodetic engineer. A licensed professional is given a priority.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of dedicated construction surveying experience, preferably within heavy civil, geotechnical, or deep foundation projects.
• Hands-on expertise with high precision total stations, robotics stations, RTK-GPS/GNSS receivers, and digital levels.
• Strong command of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and brand-specific survey reduction software (Leica, Trimble, or Topcon).
• Willingness to travel and accept rotational or long-term field assignments at international project sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other project reporting tools.
• Exceptional mathematical precision, spatial visualization, problem-solving under tight construction schedules, and cross-cultural communications.
