Survey Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a Survey Officer to support the conduct of comprehensive pre-risk and post-loss surveys and inspections. The role involves assisting with the assessment of risks and exposures, preparing survey documentation and reports, and supporting the implementation and follow-up of risk improvement recommendations.

The Survey Officer will work closely with relevant teams to provide accurate survey findings and risk information that support the underwriting and claims processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting pre-risk and post-loss surveys and inspections of insured properties and liabilities.
• Support the identification and assessment of potential hazards, exposures, and risk factors associated with insured risks.
• Assist in gathering relevant information and documentation during risk surveys and inspections.
• Support the review of policy documents and endorsements to ensure alignment with the insured property observed upon inspection.
• Assist in reviewing survey reports prepared by external surveyors to ensure completeness and compliance with required standards.
• Assist in preparing internal survey reports and maintaining accurate records on the company’s system.
• Support the communication of recommended risk improvement measures to insureds and relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in monitoring and following up on outstanding risk improvement requirements.
• Provide relevant survey findings and risk information to support underwriting and claims activities.
• Carry out other survey and risk assessment activities as assigned by the supervisor or team lead.

Requirements

• B.Sc., HND in Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 0–1 year of relevant work experience.
• Basic knowledge of insurance risk assessment and survey processes.
• Good report-writing and documentation skills.
• Willingness and ability to participate in field inspections.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients and other stakeholders.
