Surveyor – Alexandra

Based in Alexandra or Cromwell, you’ll work as part of a well-supported team, drawing on wider technical and operational expertise to deliver a wide range of land development projects across Central Otago. From topographic surveys through to subdivision design and project delivery, you’ll see projects through from first conversation to final approval, with the backing of a wider, highly experienced Patersons network.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering topographic surveys, setouts and land development projects.

• Preparing scheme plans and supporting resource consent processes.

• Managing projects through to LINZ and council approvals.

• Working directly with clients, councils and contractors.

• Using tools such as Trimble, 12d, BricsCAD and Landonline.

• Building strong relationships and contributing to repeat work.

What you’ll bring

• A relevant surveying qualification (NZ-trained preferred).

• Around 3+ years’ experience in land development or consultancy.

• Confidence across both fieldwork and office-based delivery.

• Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.

• A collaborative, down-to-earth approach.
