Surveyor

If you’re a Surveyor who enjoys complex land development projects and seeing work through from concept to completion, you’ll find plenty to get stuck into at Patersons. The opportunity

You’ll work across a diverse range of subdivision and civil engineering design projects - from urban infill to large-scale subdivisions. Work spans UAV capture, laser scanning and construction set out. Recent assignments in Dunedin include survey control and set out for the New Dunedin Hospital project.

You’ll take ownership of projects end-to-end with the backing of a skilled, collaborative team: preparing fee proposals, leading design work, and liaising with clients, Councils, and LINZ.

This role suits someone confident operating autonomously who enjoys mentoring junior staff, contributing to engineering design solutions, and helping shape outcomes that make a mark on our region.

What you’ll bring

• A relevant qualification in Surveying or Land Development Engineering.

• Around seven years’ post-qualification experience.

• Sound knowledge of New Zealand codes and standards.

• Proficiency with 12d Model, CAD software and contemporary surveying technologies such as UAV and laser scanning.

• The ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.

• A proactive, practical mindset and the confidence to deliver work independently.
