SUSHI CHEF

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Sushi Chef to join the kitchen team at our exciting new restaurant.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is confident working independently and has genuine experience preparing sushi in a professional restaurant environment.

The ideal candidate must:

• Have proven experience as a Sushi Chef
• Be confident preparing a variety of sushi, including rolls, nigiri, sashimi and other sushi dishes
• Have excellent knife skills and strong attention to detail
• Understand proper food preparation, hygiene and food-safety standards
• Be able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
• Be neat, clean and well-presented
• Be reliable, punctual and responsible
• Be able to work well under pressure
• Be comfortable working independently as well as as part of a team
• Have a strong work ethic and take pride in the quality and presentation of their food
• Have reliable transport and no transport-related issues that may affect attendance or working hours

IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A 9–5 POSITION.

The restaurant industry requires flexibility, and the successful candidate must be prepared to work long hours, weekends and public holidays, depending on the restaurant's trading requirements.

We are looking for someone with real sushi-chef experience. Applicants without relevant sushi preparation experience will not be considered.
