Job Title: Sushi Chef / Sushi Cook

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Sushi Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing sushi, maintaining high food quality, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Ensure the freshness, quality, and proper presentation of all food items.
• Prepare ingredients, including cutting fish, preparing rice, and making sauces.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary sushi station in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory, rotate ingredients, and minimize food waste.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Work efficiently with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
• Assist with receiving and inspecting food deliveries.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
• Perform additional kitchen duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a sushi chef or sushi cook preferred.
• Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and food safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts.
• Food handler’s card or ability to obtain one.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
