SUSHI CHEF

SAKU in Uptown, Charlotte is hiring an experienced sushi chef to join our established Japanese restaurant. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, moves efficiently during busy service, and is eager to learn and grow with our team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty rolls with consistent quality and presentation.
• Cut and prepare fish using proper handling and storage procedures.
• Follow restaurant recipes and portion standards to maintain consistency and reduce waste.
• Complete daily prep and keep the sushi bar clean, organized, and ready for service.Work closely with fellow chefs and servers to keep orders accurate and timely.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Provide friendly, professional service to guests at the sushi bar.

Requirements:

• Great customer service, respect for others, ability to communicate effectively, and a positive attitude is required. We want chefs who can entertain our sushi bar customers and keep conversation fun and positive!
• At least two-three years of professional sushi chef experience preferred.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of fish preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to support the team.
• Openness to feedback and eagerness to learn our menu and methods is required.
• Availability to work lunches, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay:

• $3500-5000+/month. Pay based on experience, candidate goals, and business needs.
• 5-1/2 days, FULL-TIME.
