Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sushi using authentic techniques, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavor.
• Follow established recipes and menu standards while maintaining consistency across all dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, rice cookers, and sushi rolling tools.
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist with menu planning by suggesting new sushi options and seasonal specials.
• Support food production for catering events or high-volume service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
• Adhere to food handling guidelines and ensure all ingredients are stored properly to maintain freshness.

Skills

• Proven experience in sushi preparation, fine dining, or high-volume food production environments.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various culinary techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food safety management.
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices.
• Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in a restaurant or catering setting.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with a passion for culinary excellence.
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues.
