Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, including slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Support the culinary team in adhering to recipes and menu specifications for sushi dishes
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces in compliance with food safety standards
• Help with meal assembly, portioning ingredients accurately for consistent presentation
• Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food production
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy service times

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, and food safety management practices in a restaurant or food industry setting
• Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques specific to sushi or Asian cuisine is a plus
• Strong knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient ingredient prep
• Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
• Demonstrated understanding of safety standards in production environments and food handling protocols

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
