We are seeking a motivated and energetic Sushi Helper/Kitchen Helper to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties

• Assist in preparing sushi ingredients, including slicing fish and vegetables using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks such as assembling ingredients, portioning, and plating dishes according to recipes and standards
• Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment regularly in accordance with food safety standards
• Operate basic kitchen equipment safely, including knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units
• Follow food handling procedures diligently to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of meal preparation
• Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure consistency and visual appeal of sushi offerings
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks efficiently during busy service periods

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; willingness to learn on the job is highly valued
• Basic food service experience or restaurant background is advantageous
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
• Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with food handling procedures
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in meal preparation
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
• Passion for culinary arts, especially sushi or Japanese cuisine, is a plus
