Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and attentive Sushi Server to join our vibrant restaurant team! In this role, you will be the face of our sushi bar, providing exceptional guest service while expertly serving a variety of sushi and Japanese cuisine. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and passion for delivering memorable dining experiences will help create a lively atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and valued. Duties

• Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth and welcoming arrival experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, processing sales transactions efficiently
• Serve sushi, beverages, and other menu items with professionalism, ensuring presentation quality and proper food handling standards
• Upsell menu items including specialty rolls, drinks, and spirits to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
• Buss tables promptly after guests finish their meals to ensure a clean dining environment
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine, spirits, and sake pairings while demonstrating excellent guest relations skills

Requirements

• Previous food service experience in a sushi or fine dining restaurant is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle inquiries professionally
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and handling sales efficiently
• Familiarity with beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and drink presentation techniques
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire; understanding of sanitation standards in food handling
• Experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while enhancing guest experience
• Hospitality background with strong guest relations skills; previous host/hostess or cashiering experience is advantageous

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
