Do work that matters:

We’re looking for an experienced sustainability professional to support our operational environmental and emissions reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the accuracy, integrity and transparency of the environmental data that underpins our ESG commitments and disclosures.

As a Sustainability Analyst, you’ll support the bank’s operational emissions inventory (excludes financed emissions) and help develop and refine the data, processes and insights that support our sustainability strategy. You’ll work closely with Property, Procurement, Finance, Technology and other internal teams to deliver high quality reporting and continuous improvement in environmental performance. The role covers CBA’s commercial offices, retail branches and data centres, as well as our supply chain, across our operations spanning Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical ESG work, strong data governance, problem solving in complex environments, and engaging stakeholders across a large organisation.

Key responsibilities for this role includes:

  • Support end‑to‑end reporting of operational Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 operational emissions.

  • Manage key reporting requirements including NGER, sustainability and annual reports, ESG ratings submissions and regulatory disclosures.

  • Strengthen environmental data systems, processes and quality controls.

  • Prepare environmental metrics and narrative content for executive, board and external audiences.

  • Partner with operational teams to identify emissions reduction opportunities and performance insights.

  • Support internal and external assurance for environmental data.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience in corporate environmental reporting, ESG performance management or sustainability analytics, with a proven track record of supporting end‑to‑end emissions reporting across complex organisations.

  • Knowledge of GHG Protocol methodologies, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards AASB S2 and environmental data management.

  • Well-developed analytical skills, proven hands-on experience working with large datasets, high level of attention to detail and superior problem-solving skills (e.g. Excel and PowerBI, or equivalents)

  • Experience managing audit or assurance processes.

  • Experience with ESG reporting software/platforms (e.g. IBM Envizi) and ESG rating methodologies

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and relationship building skills including an ability to influence others to drive participation, co-operation, compliance, and engagement.

If this sounds like the role for you then we would love to hear from you. Apply today!
