We work in partnership with our customers - we accomplish more when we work together.

We respect and encourage one another - to bring out the best in each of us.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and forward thinking individual to develop, implement and champion our sustainability strategy. This newly created role will play a critical part in helping the business measure, manage and improve our environmental and social impact.

The Sustainability Lead will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Business Support, Operations and other internal teams to establish sustainability metrics, drive improvements in resource efficiency and embed responsible practices into how we operate, manufacture and support our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the sustainability journey of an ambitious, growing veterinary pharmaceutical company and influence positive change within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the business in working towards relevant sustainability standards and certification.
  • Establish environmental metrics, including utilities (energy, water, waste) and other relevant sustainability indicators e.g carbon footprint, packaging, supply chain.
  • Track, analyse, and report on sustainability performance and progress against targets, taking responsibility for agreed action plans.
  • Identify practical opportunities and deliver initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including improvements in energy efficiency, resource use, and waste management.
  • Work closely with Operations to integrate sustainable practices into manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to prepare clear and credible sustainability communications for stakeholders.
  • Support the integration of sustainability into commercial strategy and customer engagement, within the veterinary sector.
  • Develop internal awareness and engagement, promoting sustainability culture across the organisation.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practice relating to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Prepare sustainability updates, documentation, and reporting for senior leadership and external stakeholders as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in sustainability, environmental, ESG, or corporate responsibility roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing sustainability initiatives and measuring environmental performance.
  • Knowledge of energy, utilities monitoring, carbon accounting, and sustainability metrics.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams across commercial, marketing, and operational functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or veterinary sectors is advantageous but not essential.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or related field preferred.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape the sustainability strategy of a growing veterinary pharmaceutical company.
  • The chance to make a meaningful environmental impact within the veterinary and animal health industry.
  • Salary - from £40,000 a year.
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Healthcare cash plan, Group Life Assurance, Income Protection Scheme and Company Pension
