About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and technical Sustaining Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in maintaining high-performing, reliable power electronics products. In this role, you will lead end-to-end product failure analyses, oversee engineering change processes (ECR/ECN), provide crucial support to production, and drive the technical growth of our sustaining engineering talent.
If you possess a deep background in switching power supply hardware R&D, strong failure analysis capability, and a proven track record in leadership, we invite you to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Team Leadership & Development: Oversee the daily operations of the Sustaining Engineering team. Provide continuous technical capability training and mentoring to elevate overall team performance and standards.
- Failure Analysis & Technical Guidance: Guide engineers through systematic failure analysis methods. Lead in-depth investigations into product failures—especially design-related issues—to identify root causes and deliver comprehensive technical support to production teams.
- Reporting & Corrective Action: Draft detailed failure analysis (FA) reports and drive subsequent product improvement measures through to full implementation.
- Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECN): Manage and track ECR/ECN workflows. Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure design changes are effectively executed within specified timeframes without disrupting production schedules.
- Issue Tracking & Closure: Maintain, monitor, and update the issue tracking log, following up on open items until complete resolution and closure.
Job Requirements & Qualifications: -
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Bachelor's holders: 10+ years of switching power supply hardware R&D experience, including 3+ years in team management or core project leadership.
- Master's holders: 5+ years of relevant experience with leadership exposure.
Technical Mastery:
- Solid foundation in power electronics with mastery of AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC topologies (e.g., PFC, Flyback, Forward, LLC, Phase-shifted Full-bridge).
- Proficient in power loss and failure analysis, magnetic and thermal design, PCB layout, and feedback loop tuning.
Standards & Compliance:
- Deep familiarity with global safety (UL, CE), EMC, and energy efficiency standards (Energy Star, DoE).
- Proven hands-on experience with EMI/EMC rectification.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards and RoHS/REACH compliance.
Tools & Test Equipment:
- Hands-on proficiency with specialized test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers) and EDA design tools (e.g., Cadence).
Professional Attributes:
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building capabilities.
- Customer-oriented mindset, strong cost awareness, and sound analytical judgment.
- Meticulous work ethic, positive attitude, and unwavering professional integrity.
Key Skills
- Language Proficiency: Excellent business and technical English command across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Cross-Border Communication: Proven ability to draft technical reports, manage business email correspondences, and communicate seamlessly with international teams and stakeholders.
