Duties

• Plan and deliver comprehensive swim training sessions tailored to individual skill levels and goals
• Lead group practices for swim teams or classes, emphasizing proper technique, safety, and sportsmanship
• Monitor swimmers during practice and competitions to ensure safety protocols are followed
• Provide clear instructions on swimming techniques, water safety, and emergency procedures
• Conduct regular assessments of swimmers’ progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing rules, managing behavior, and responding promptly to emergencies using AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and first aid/CPR skills
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, or clients to communicate progress, address concerns, and set achievable goals

Skills

• Proven experience in swimming coaching or instruction with a strong background in sports-specific training methods
• Lifeguard experience with current certification in AED operation, first aid, and CPR is essential
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and manage behavior positively
• Knowledge of martial arts such as Karate or Judo enhances coaching versatility and discipline techniques
• Experience working with sports teams like soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing or gymnastics is highly valued
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team leadership, and teaching diverse age groups
• Ability to motivate athletes through energetic coaching styles while maintaining safety standards
• Background in physical education or sports coaching experience that supports effective teaching strategies
