Swim Instructor

NJAC is growing its personal training team and is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated Swim Instructor to join our team! We are seeking individuals who are passionate about swimming, fitness, and helping swimmers of all ages and skill levels build confidence, improve technique, and reach their goals.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children as young as four years old, leading group swim sessions, supporting family swim programs, and creating a fun, safe, and welcoming aquatic environment for members and families.

We are looking for someone who stays informed about current trends in the swimming, personal training, and fitness industries and is excited to contribute to NJAC’s marketing and member engagement initiatives. The candidate must be available to support Family Swim on Saturdays and Sundays between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized swim instruction and training for children ages four and up, as well as swimmers of varying ages and abilities.

• Lead and support group swim sessions, helping participants develop swimming skills, confidence, endurance, and proper technique.

• Assist with and participate in NJAC’s Family Swim program, creating a positive and engaging experience for children and families.

• Develop and adapt swim training sessions to meet individual needs, skill levels, and fitness goals.

• Maintain a safe aquatic environment by following pool safety procedures, enforcing pool rules, and supervising participants appropriately.

• Build positive relationships with members and families while encouraging participation in swim programs and personal training services.

• Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and new developments in the swimming, aquatics, personal training, and fitness industries.

• Contribute to NJAC’s marketing program by supporting promotions, member engagement initiatives, social media content, and outreach for swim and fitness programs.

• Help promote swim lessons, personal training packages, group swim activities, and family programming to current and prospective members.

• Maintain a professional, energetic, and welcoming presence that reflects NJAC’s commitment to fitness, wellness, and community.

• Follow all applicable health, safety, and facility procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in swimming, swim instruction, personal training, coaching, or a related fitness field.

• A genuine passion for working with children, families, and swimmers of different ages and abilities.

• Strong swimming skills and the ability to teach and demonstrate proper swimming techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children and adults in a positive and encouraging manner.

• Knowledge of current swimming, aquatics, personal training, and fitness industry trends.

• Interest in marketing, promotion, and helping grow NJAC’s swim and personal training programs.

• CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

• Strong organizational skills, reliability, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude.

• Flexibility to support swim programs and other training activities as needed.

• Availability on Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for Family Swim is required.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 20.0 per week
