Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Lesson Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to participants of various ages, primarily focusing on children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a background in sports or team activities, and strong swimming abilities. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on participants’ safety and confidence in the water while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Availability during evenings is preferred to accommodate our class schedules.

Duties

• Conduct engaging and safe swim lessons tailored to different skill levels, with an emphasis on early childhood development.
• Develop lesson plans that promote skill progression, water safety, and confidence-building among participants.
• Monitor and ensure the safety of all swimmers during lessons, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students improve their swimming techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized lesson area, ensuring all equipment is properly used and stored.
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and safety considerations.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive learning environment that fosters growth and enjoyment in swimming.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children is highly preferred, demonstrating patience and effective communication skills.
• Experience participating in sports teams or team activities is advantageous, highlighting teamwork and leadership qualities.
• Strong swimming skills are essential, with the ability to teach basic water safety and swimming techniques confidently.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard or in early childhood development can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
• Availability during evenings to accommodate class schedules is required for this role.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 20.0 per week
