What they need

About us
At Dean Greenwood Swim School (DGSS), everything we do is about creating exceptional client experiences and teaching “Skills for Life.” We’ve been helping Aucklanders grow water confidence for over 30 years. We value positivity, growth and community — and we’re looking for a Site Manager who leads from the front and sets the tone for success.

The opportunity
Reporting to the Area Manager, you’ll run one of our busy swim school facilities end-to-end — performance, people, operations and customer experience. You’ll monitor KPIs (bookings, class efficiency/productivity, and staff turnover), keep standards high, and make sure every family leaves with a smile.

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive site performance and booking growth; lift class efficiency/productivity.
  • Build a positive team culture: recruit, roster, onboard, coach, review and, when needed, manage performance fairly.
  • Oversee operations: pool plant, repairs & maintenance, and water quality checks.
  • Frontline service: reception, user groups, pool parties; act as Deck Manager as needed.
  • Admin: daily banking, H&S, reporting, utilities data collection.
  • Community engagement and occasional promo events with Marketing.

What we’re looking for
Must-haves

  • Proven team supervision/leadership with excellent communication.
  • Positive, solution-oriented, self-motivated; strong time-management & delegation.
  • Comfortable working independently in a varied, fast-paced environment.
  • Computer-literate (Microsoft Office).

Nice to have

  • Swim school/aquatics knowledge.
  • Experience in water testing and water management.
  • HR/H&S experience, community networking, or additional aquatic/management quals.

Why join us

  • Salary: $75,000–$85,000.
  • Travel: $20 per week allowance for meeting travel.
  • Tools: company phone and laptop.
  • Uniform: corporate uniform provided, plus $500 annual allowance for approved items.
  • Professional development: $1,500 annual budget (in-house & external training).
  • Roster: ~40 hours/week incl. occasional flexible weekends; time in lieu for weekend work. Occasional travel for meetings/training.

How to apply
Send your CV and a cover letter to [email protected] explaining why this role fits you and how you align with our purpose and values. NZ work rights required (residency or valid work visa).
