Qualified Swimming Teacher – Part-Time

We are looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic qualified swimming teachers to join our supportive team in Hyde.

We currently have regular and convenient 4:00pm–6:30pm shifts in Hyde. Applicants may apply to work at one venue or across different locations.

These hours are ideal for qualified swimming teachers looking for consistent part-time work alongside another role, studies or family commitments. Additional cover/ regular work may also be available.

The Role

You will deliver safe, engaging and progressive swimming lessons to swimmers of different ages and abilities. You will help each swimmer build their confidence, improve their technique and enjoy learning within a positive and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach correct swimming techniques and essential water-safety skills
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons appropriate to individual and group needs
• Adapt activities for swimmers of different ages, abilities and learning needs
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to support swimmers’ progress
• Create a safe, welcoming and supportive learning environment
• Monitor and assess swimmers’ progress throughout their lessons
• Complete registers and maintain accurate attendance records
• Communicate professionally with swimmers, parents and other team members
• Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and pool operating procedures

Requirements

• A recognised Level 2 swimming teaching qualification, such as STA or SEQ
• Previous experience in swimming teaching or sports coaching
• Strong knowledge of swimming strokes, techniques and water safety
• The ability to communicate effectively with children, adults and parents
• Confidence teaching swimmers with a range of ages, abilities and learning needs
• Excellent interpersonal skills, patience and reliability
• A current safeguarding qualification
• Appropriate professional insurance
• An enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete one

A current lifesaving, pool-rescue or first-aid qualification would be preferred.

Experience or qualifications in parent-and-child swimming or SEND Swimming would also be desirable.
