Swimming Instructor

Position Summary

The Swimming Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and effective swimming lessons to students of all and skill levels. The instructor will teach fundamental swimming techniques, water safety, and confidence in the water while maintaining a professional and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Training

• Conduct swimming lessons for children, adults, and beginners.

• Teach basic to advanced swimming techniques, including:

  • Water confidence
  • Floating
  • Kicking techniques
  • Breathing control
  • Swimming strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly)

• Adapt teaching methods based on student ability.

• Ensure every lesson follows the OSA structured learning program.

Safety & Supervision

• Ensure strict safety procedures during all lessons.
• Monitor students closely in and around the pool.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and apply basic life-saving skills when necessary.
• Ensure the swimming area is safe before starting the class.

Student Development

• Evaluate students' swimming levels and progress.
• Provide feedback to parents or students on improvement areas.
• Encourage confidence, discipline, and enjoyment in swimming.

Customer Experience

• Maintain professional communication with parents and clients.
• Represent the academy with professional behavior and appearance.
• Help create a positive learning experience for students.

Administration & Reporting

• Record student attendance and progress.
• Report any incidents or issues to the academy management.
• Support academy events, competitions, or special training programs.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Swimming Instructor or Lifeguard certification.
• Basic First Aid & CPR certification.
• Previous experience teaching swimming.
• Strong swimming ability and water confidence.

Required Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to teach children and beginners.
• Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness.
• Patience, energy, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Working Conditions

• Lessons are conducted at condominium pools across Kuala Lumpur.
• Working hours depend on class schedules.
• May involve weekend and evening sessions.
