Swing Transmission Removal & Install Technician

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transmission Technician specializing in Remove & Replace procedures to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, removing, and installing transmissions with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure our customers’ vehicles are restored to optimal performance, providing them with confidence and peace of mind. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and technical skills to deliver top-tier automotive repair services.

Responsibilities

• Perform removal and replacement of transmissions on a wide range of vehicles, including both manual and automatic systems.
• Diagnose transmission issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify root causes accurately.
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections, including oil changes, powertrain assessments, and suspension evaluations.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to disassemble, repair, or replace transmission components as needed.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and schematics meticulously to ensure proper installation and alignment of transmissions.
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify the quality of work and ensure proper functioning of the transmission system.
• Maintain detailed service records, update auto estimating systems, and communicate repair progress clearly with customers.

Experience

• Proven dealership experience working on transmissions, diesel engines, or similar automotive systems.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts, tire service, and suspension work.
• Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, Schematics reading, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and auto body repair is a plus.
• Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment effectively and interpret automotive diagnostics results.
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance practices such as oil changes and vehicle servicing routines.
• Excellent customer service skills coupled with auto estimating experience to provide transparent communication about repairs needed. Join us if you’re passionate about automotive repair excellence! Pay: From $22.50 per hour
