System Administrator (Atlassian)

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled System Administrator (Atlassian) to manage, configure, and continuously improve an Atlassian Cloud environment across Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Bitbucket. The role will focus on platform administration, access management, workflow optimisation, automation, integrations, and operational support to ensure a secure, reliable, and efficient technology environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Atlassian Cloud products, troubleshooting technical issues, managing permissions, and implementing platform improvements. Experience with AI capabilities, particularly Atlassian Rovo, and integrating AI tools into existing workflows will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and continuously improve the Atlassian Cloud platform, including Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Bitbucket.
• Configure and maintain Jira projects, workflows, issue types, screens, fields, schemes, and automation rules.
• Manage Confluence spaces, templates, permissions, and documentation standards.
• Configure and maintain Jira Service Management portals, request types, queues, SLAs, knowledge bases, and service delivery workflows.
• Manage user access, groups, permissions, onboarding, offboarding, and access reviews across internal, external, and client environments, ensuring appropriate security controls.
• Develop and support platform automation, integrations, APIs, webhooks, and AI-enabled capabilities, including Atlassian Rovo.
• Support the integration of Atlassian products with other AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Codex, where applicable.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot configuration and integration issues, respond to incidents and service requests, and coordinate escalations.
• Plan and implement platform changes, migrations, and configuration improvements, ensuring appropriate testing, documentation, stakeholder communication, and rollback planning.
• Manage Atlassian licences, marketplace applications, product usage, and vendor-related activities, supporting cost optimisation, security, and compliance.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and user guidance while supporting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.
• Apply approved AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while adhering to organisational security, privacy, and technology policies.

Skills And Experience

• Demonstrated experience administering Atlassian Cloud products, particularly Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Bitbucket.
• Hands-on experience configuring Jira workflows, schemes, fields, screens, and automation rules.
• Practical experience managing Confluence spaces and permissions, JSM portals, queues and SLAs, and Bitbucket repositories.
• Experience managing user access, permissions, and secure collaboration across internal and external environments.
• Experience in technical support, incident troubleshooting, platform changes, testing, and operational documentation.
• Understanding of integrations, APIs, webhooks, and workflow automation within technology platforms.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage platform improvements independently while collaborating with technical and business teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Atlassian Rovo and AI-powered workflows.
• Familiarity with integrating Atlassian Cloud with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or Codex.
• Experience with platform migrations, marketplace applications, licence management, and governance.
• A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in applying AI to streamline operational processes.
