What they need
We are looking for a highly logical, detail-oriented system administrator to serve as the "Guardian of Correctness" for our SaaS platform. This is not a standard support role, nor is it a feature-development role.
This is a System Ownership role. You will be responsible for the integrity of our configuration governance, the traceability of our billing, and the continuous improvement of the tools that keep our platform running. You are the final line of defense for system invariants.
What You’ll Own
- Configuration Governance: Full ownership of the "Spoto" configuration (RBAC/ACL models, user groups, and organizational setups). You ensure that no matter the scenario, the platform remains stable.
- Billing Traceability: Investigate complex billing anomalies. You’ll dig into transactions, balances, and logs to provide a definitive answer on "why" a balance looks the way it does.
- Incident Command: Take ownership of production issues. You will lead the investigation, reproduce the bugs, and work with the dev team to ensure they never happen again.
- Admin Tooling & Guardrails: You won't just use our tools; you’ll improve them. You’ll create validation scripts (Python/TS) and operational checks to prevent human error.
Your Background
A background in Software Engineering is a significant plus. We need someone who can read code, reason about logic, and understand how a JSON change can ripple through a live system.
- 5+ years in Backend Engineering, Platform/DevOps, or L3 Technical Operations.
- Database Mastery: Strong SQL skills for data reconciliation and anomaly detection are essential.
- Incident Experience: You have handled production "fires" and know how to perform a blameless post-mortem.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in Fintech, Billing, or IAM (Identity & Access Management) is a massive advantage.
Tech Literacy: Comfortable with APIs, complex JSON structures, and log aggregation tools.
Required Technical Expertise
- Automation: Ability to write scripts to automate repetitive configuration tasks and data migrations.
- Tooling: Experience building or improving internal CLI tools or scripts to interface with APIs and JSON-based configurations.
- Validation: Coding scripts that act as "guardrails" to validate system state before and after production changes.
What We Value
- The "Stop" Mentality: The willingness to say, "Stop—this change breaks an invariant" before it hits production.
- Logical Rigor: You think in edge cases and failure modes.
- Accountability: You don't just close tickets; you solve systemic problems.
Application Requirements
- How would you prevent money inconsistencies in a system with refunds and reusable credits?
- How would you limit the blast radius of a large configuration change?
- Describe a production mistake you were responsible for and the systemic change you implemented afterward.
Other offers great for you!
