System Administrator

Systems Engineer

We are working with a growing technology services organization that is looking to add a Systems Engineer to their Managed Services team. This person will support a variety of SMB and enterprise client environments, working primarily across Microsoft infrastructure, Microsoft 365, backup and disaster recovery, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure across client environments
• Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies
• Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Office 365 and Exchange Online
• Monitor and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity processes, including RTO/RPO requirements
• Support VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization environments
• Assist with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and other cloud technologies
• Troubleshoot systems and infrastructure issues and escalate more complex problems when needed
• Work with clients and internal teams to resolve technical issues and implement solutions
• Maintain a security-focused approach to systems administration
• Participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365/Office 365
• Experience with Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies
• Understanding of RTO/RPO and basic disaster recovery concepts
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Familiarity with Azure and/or Intune
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
• Experience supporting SMB and/or enterprise environments

Nice to Have

• Microsoft or VMware certifications
• Experience with backup platforms
• MSP or multi-client environment experience
• ConnectWise or similar ticketing systems
• RMM experience
• Exposure to storage/SAN technologies
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field
