System Administrator (SYSAD)

PURPOSE (why does the position exist, WITH what objectives and WITHIN what limits)

The SYSAD exists to own the reliability, availability, and performance of the organization’s core infrastructure and services —WITH the objective of reducing downtime and incident impact for critical systems — WITHIN the limits of approved monitoring, automation, and systems-administration standards, and without independent authority over budget, staffing, or policy changes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant Experience:

• At least 3-5 years in systems administration, site reliability engineering, or a similar operations-focused role.
• Experience supporting production or customer-facing systems is a strong plus.

Certifications:

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) (Preferred)
• CompTIA Linux+ (Preferred)
• CompTIA Security+ (Preferred)
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate (Preferred)
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) (Preferred)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) (Preferred)
• CompTIA Cloud+ (Preferred)
• ITIL 4 Foundation (Preferred)
• CompTIA Project+ (Preferred)
• Professional Scrum Foundations (PSF) (Preferred)

Business Understanding:

• Understanding of the organization's service delivery model and uptime expectations.
• Awareness of the reliability requirements of key business systems and applications.
• Working knowledge of incident management and escalation practices.

Technical Knowledge

• Linux/Unix system administration
• Network and infrastructure security fundamentals
• Virtualization and/or cloud platforms
• Configuration management and automation tools
• Monitoring and observability tooling
• Backup, disaster recovery, and patching practices

Behavioral Skills

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, alerting, and SLI/SLO tracking for critical infrastructure and services.
• Lead incident response, triage, and root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Administer and harden servers, applications, and infrastructure components.
• Build and maintain automation (scripts, playbooks, infrastructure-as-code) to reduce manual work and configuration drift.
• Perform capacity planning ahead of projected growth and participate in on-call incident coverage.

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php50,000.00 per month
