System Developer 1

I. Job Summary

The System Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's core software systems and supporting the overall system architecture. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions that integrate with hardware, operating systems, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms, web-based applications, and other enterprise technologies.

The System Developer ensures that critical systems remain reliable, efficient, and capable of handling high-volume data processing while implementing best practices for security, performance, and system availability. They also monitor system health, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously improve system functionality and infrastructure.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the System Developer manages day-to-day operational activities, including system monitoring, documentation, coordination, and project logistics. They work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met, technical requirements are aligned with business objectives, and system changes are implemented effectively with minimal disruption.

II. Roles and Responsibilities A

·        System Architecture & Design: Coordination planning with Sr System Developer and IT Project Manager to build a robust, scalable back-end infrastructure, APIs, and system architectures.

·        Coding & Implementation: Write clean, high-performance, and maintainable code for low-level software, operating systems, embedded systems, or enterprise-level databases

·        Integration & Optimization: Integrate new software components with existing legacy systems, and optimize code to reduce latency and maximize processing speeds.

·        Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough system testing with Sr System Developer and IT Project Manger that includes debugging, and diagnostics to resolve complex software anomalies and security vulnerabilities.

·        Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for system architecture, codebases, and operational procedures.

·        Collaboration: Partner with DevOps/Sr System Developer, Software Vendor/Integrators, IT security, and application front-end teams to ensure seamless system interoperability and security.

III. Roles and Responsibilities B

·        Assists in project plans and tracking progress, reports to IT Project Manager on status proactively

·        Managing system documentation and maintaining folders of the project

·        Collaboration with IT Project Manager on progress via Gantt charts or task boards & ensuring team members has necessary materials or information.

IV. Qualifications and Education Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)

·        At least five (4) years of progressive experience in software development, backend engineering, or systems programming.

·        Software Project Management experience is a plus

·        Exceptional problem-solving skills to diagnose obscure root-cause failures in complex systems.

·        Precision in writing code where minor memory leaks or inefficiencies can crash an entire server.

·        Readiness to learn new technologies as enterprise infrastructure evolves.

·        Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders/end-users

·        Excellent in software development, backend engineering or systems programming
